It's not everyday that you get to shoot a session in the Biltmore Gardens, so imagine my excitement when Andy and Ashlen told me they had three tickets for the day of our shoot! It was a photographer's wonderland with never-ending inspiration. Needless to say, I was in photo heaven all afternoon!

Andy (or "Jack" as some people know him) and I have been friends for about nine years now. We served alongside each other loving on high-schoolers at David Crockett High School through the ministry of Young Life, and we quickly became referred to as the "brother and sister" of our team. I am thankful for his friendship that has endured the ups and downs of college and post-college life! Andy is a very passionate person and when he goes after something, he doesn't let much stop him. His pursuit of Ashlen illustrates just that.

I met Ashlen the night Andy proposed. Andy and Ashlen met at a Young Life camp and both of them have poured so much of themselves into the ministry of Young Life that it only made sense for him to propose at Windy Gap, a Young Life camp in Weaverville, NC. One chilly March evening, Andy proposed to Ashlen next to the lake under a willow tree lit up with twinkly lights! It was such a sweet moment and I was so excited to be there to capture it. The moment I met Ashlen, I knew Andy had made the best decision of his life. Ashlen is full of joy and enthusiasm; and I'm not sure if she ever stops smiling!

One of my favorite things about my afternoon with Andy and Ashlen was how much they laughed together. Andy's goofiness had her constantly laughing; and I was struck by how content, comfortable, happy, and just plain silly they are together. A great illustration of their playfulness was when they brought out balloons for the end of our session! What a great idea!

Andy and Ashlen, I had a blast with you both! Thanks for being awesome! Can't wait to celebrate with you on your big day!
