Hands down, one of my favorite bridal portraits, ever.
And a huge shout out to Mary Claire for a killer shot of the groom before seeing his bride.
After already having spent a decade together, they were peaceful and contagiously joyful.
First looks are always incredible, and the amount of time we got to spend photographing these two following theirs was exceptional. I was floored with how many photos we were able to capture of their joy. I hope these images are on the walls of their home forever and I hope they never forget how peaceful they were in those moments.
Sometimes the beauty -- and magic -- of a photo goes completely unnoticed...until I slow down and spend a little time editing it.
I love being surprised by my own work. I could have sworn she was looking out a window, but then I remembered there wasn't a window there, just a mirror between us.
The light was coming from somewhere else.
This is the kind of photo that humbles me. I don't remember trying to capture the light that way, it was an accident. Eliminates my ability to take any credit.
And isn't that the beauty of capturing light?
The light was never mine to own in the first place. Not even the ability to find it.
Attended a bridal show here in Knoxville last weekend...as a bride.
Such a strange and amazing experience. While on the hunt for my own wedding venue & vendors, I collected quite the amount of materials: business cards for caterers, brochures for venues, pricing guides for florists... and of course the January 2015 issue of The Pink Bride magazine.
After I got home, while sorting through all I had collected on my convention center journey, I opened the magazine and look what I found!!!! A full spread of Cody & John Barry's wedding day at RT Lodge. SUCH a beautiful day with two incredibly amazing people.
